Episode 1. Hunting History

Episode 2. Protecting History
UNESCO's recommendations to leave shipwreck as they are for the benefit of future generations sound admirable. In reality, all wrecksites will be spoilt by fishing trawlers if not excavated now!
Episode 3. European trade in Asia
The struggle for control the the Asian trade caused many ships to go down in the South China -sea fully loaded. Most of their cargo was however destroyed as a consequence.
Episode 4. Royal Nanhai
The 15th century ship Royal Nanhai was loaded with fine celadon wares from the Sisatchanalai kilns. A secret compartment, next to the keel, was hiding some unusual artefacts.
Episode 5. Selling history
Artefacts with provenance and unusual style or decoration are more valuable than other mostly 'questionable' artefacts available in antique shops. The safest way is to buy from known source.
Episode 6. Loss of the Dutch submarine "O-16"
The captains unfavorable record was restored after Sten Sjostrand discovered the wreck and proved that the he did not make any navigation error. The submarine captains records are now corrected.

DIVING THE WANLI WRECK SITE
Join us for a short dive on the AD c. 1625 Wanli wreck site. This dive is one of very few when we could see anything on the seabed Most other dives was made in zero or near-zero visibility. Despite this, careful in-situ measurements was recorded and now part of the mapping of the wreck site.

THE DISCOVERY OF THE ROYAL NANHAI AND ITS 15TH CENTURY CELADON WARE

TREASURES OF THE NANHAI DOCUMENTARY PART 1 & 2
